My Services

Website Design

< to create & build >

Whether creating a new website or rejuvenating an existing one, we can work together to construct an internet presence to best suit your needs.

Design & Development

Your website is personal to you and your company – its design and content are the key factors in reflecting this to new and existing customers.

Branding & Logo

Your business may not be unique but you are.  As such, fashioning a brand will enable your business to stand out from the crowd.

Social Media

All of your social media links and reviews can be incorporated into your website for seamless sharing and promotion.

Getting your message across in a clear and concise way is key to inspire your website visitor to become your new customer or client.

Website Hosting

< to live & breathe >

Building a website is one thing, hosting it is quite another. Linking the two from the design stage will optimise speed, security, and stability.

My hosting is UK based and my hardware & software is specifically designed and configured to yield flawless performance.

Correspond and communicate your company professionally with an email address consistent to your company & website domain name.

Search Engine Optimisation strategy will be planned and implemented from the design stage, and your website will be optimised for search engines’ rankings.

A Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate is standard with my build and hosting. As is market leading anti-virus programs that constantly monitor, scan, and report my systems’ status.

My Process

While the process of building a website does have specific stages, they are more akin to steps that merge together on a journey: defining is part of designing – designing is part of developing, and refining will take into account all three.

A screen shot image of Sylvia's website.Sylvia was starting a new business venture and together we came up with colour, style, and font type for her website and stationary.

As she is a member of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants, I used their logo as her ‘site icon’ and embedded hyperlinks to her profile on their website. I also helped her set-up social media business profiles and pages, and I set-up a Google business site – to help her SEO in Google Maps. We used free stock pictures for many of the photos and she took the ‘selfie’ photos on her phone and forwarded them to me.

As this site is published in WordPress I have created Sylvia an editor account to enable her to login to her website to keep a blog. Teaching her how to do this required little effort from me.

As you can see her website is secure with an SSL certificate and it is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive (ePR).

“I’m so happy I chose David to design my website – it looks almost exactly how I imagined it would look. I love my business card design too, when I scribbled out an idea David prompted me to draw it properly and he used that to create my cards – so I have a personal touch because he has a personal touch. David’s service, professionalism and his eye for detail are thoroughly recommended.”

About Me

Designing & building websites is my vocation found

Designing & building websites is my vocation found

I became hooked on computers in 1993, gained an Advanced Diploma and an NVQ Level III in Information Technology in 1995, and became a Microsoft Certified Professional in 1999.

My first job in IT was for Amstrad in 1995, since then I have worked for or contracted to many blue chip companies including Schroders Investment Management, Industrial Bank of Japan, PHH Vehicle Management PLC, Cox Insurance Services PLC, Credit Swiss First Boston, and Merrill Lynch.

I have had many roles in the industry, from IT Support to Project Management, as such, I have taken numerous courses, read and written numerous manuals, and I have designed and implemented complete IT systems.

Prior to my career in IT I worked in the Hotel and Leisure Industry and in Advertising, and I believe the combined knowledge and skills I have in these sectors makes me well placed to best promote an idea, a product, or a business.

“The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow.”

Steve Jobs

“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”

Bill Gates

“Software is a great combination between artistry and engineering.”

Steve Jobs

“You can’t just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they’ll want something new.”

Bill Gates

“Good programmers stay open minded to that even though there is no obvious way to improve what they’ve done they… they keep looking and they listen to what other people have to say.”

Steve Jobs

“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful, that’s what matters to me.”

Bill Gates

“Patience is a key element of success.”

“Our success has really been based on partnerships from the very beginning.”

Steve Jobs

“Technology is nothing. What’s important is that you have a faith in people, that they’re basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they’ll do wonderful things with them.”

Bill Gates

“I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.”

“Life is a lot more fun if you treat its challenges in creative ways.”

Steve Jobs

“My favorite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.”

Bill Gates

“Creativity allows people to be effective.”

“Computers are great because when you’re working with them you get immediate results that let you know if your program works. It’s feedback you don’t get from many other things.”

Steve Jobs

“It’s not the tools that you have faith in – tools are just tools. They work, or they don’t work. It’s people you have faith in or not.”

Bill Gates

“Like almost everyone who uses e-mail, I receive a ton of spam every day. Much of it offers to help me get out of debt or get rich quick. It would be funny if it weren’t so exciting.”

Steve Jobs

“Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it’s really how it works.”

Bill Gates

“Only a few businesses will succeed by having the lowest price, so most will need a strategy that includes customer services.”

Steve Jobs

“A lot of people in our industry haven’t had very diverse experiences. So they don’t have enough dots to connect, and they end up with very linear solutions without a broad perspective on the problem. The broader one’s understanding of the human experience, the better design we will have.”

Bill Gates

“Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.”

Steve Jobs

“Design is the fundamental soul of a man-made creation that ends up expressing itself in successive outer layers of the product or service.”

Bill Gates

“We get Comfort from those who agree with us, but we get Growth from only those who don’t agree
with us!”

“If I only had two dollars left I would spend one dollar on PR.”

Steve Jobs

“When you’re a carpenter making a beautiful chest of drawers, you’re not going to use a piece of plywood on the back, even though it faces the wall and nobody will ever see it. You’ll know it’s there, so you’re going to use a beautiful piece of wood on the back.”

Bill Gates

“You can make money and you can make excuses, but you can never make money out of excuses.”

“Vision without execution is daydreaming.”

Steve Jobs

“Everyone here has the sense that right now is one of those moments when we are influencing the future.”

Bill Gates

“I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. But many others were also in the same place. The difference was that I took action.”

Steve Jobs

“We made the buttons on the screen look so good you’ll want to lick them.”
